Swiss-based vegan shoe brand BIKKOU flaunts a shoe wardrobe with something for all of life's many moments. From Monday meetings to hitting the dance floor at 2am, this brand has a vegan, ethically made shoe to match the occasion.

Founder

The name BIKKOU is short for “bunicul”, which means “grandpa” in Romanian – that's what people called Nathalie Mossaz' father. He moved to Geneva in the Eighties to create a more secure future for his family, enabling his daughter to go to law school. But after her father's passing, Nathalie was inspired to leave law behind and follow her true passion. Alongside her husband Nicolas, she created BIKKOU – a collection of glamorous yet ethically made shoes.

Materials

BIKKOU works with bio-based materials such as leathers made from pineapples and GMO-free cereals, as well as recycled polyurethane. The insoles are made from cork and the outsoles from recycled rubber. All materials are sourced in Europe.

Production

The brand's collections are designed in Switzerland and manufactured in Portugal. The company uses only one factory, which the founders know personally and visit frequently.

People

BIKKOU ensures ethical treatment of workers by personally visiting the factory.

Packaging

Each design is packaged in a bag made from recycled materials. No box is used aside from the shipping parcel.
